parentals were concerned about the safety of our ‘93 holden barina (plus my sisters and I hated driving it in summer – no air con or power steering) so we started looking for a replacement a few weeks ago. found this almost brand new looking corolla, which turned out to have dodgy repair work done on it so that contract was torn up. Then looking for something more round 10k figure, came upon the holden barina newer models. I was kinda not into them at the start, sort of hoped to upgrade a bit. But couldn’t complain since I wasn’t buying it. In the end we got a neat little ‘02 pale green 2 door barina with air con and power steering, thank god! And now have driven it a few times and totally love it. handles great, has much more zip than the other car and looks cool too, make you green with envy if you saw it!!! been having fun making some CD’s of my fav tracks to put in the CD player (another bonus of the new car I am enjoying). taking it for its first trip to the beach tomorrow, how exciting!
the killers concert on Australia day. was an awesome time. think I first heard
of the band when I watched The OC. They played in one of the ‘club’ scenes and I went off to download the song. Week or so later it was all over the radios. So I have been a fan for a while and it was great to see
them live. I like there new album but the first one ‘hot fuss’ is better I think. When they played Bones, it was great, and the exitludes and interludes.
The concert finished almost 11ish. so we headed up to the car, only to sit in it for 1 hr waiting to get out. we were on level 5 of 6 levels so there were alot of cars to get out before us. ended up putting the seats back and having a little snooze! all up a fun (hot) night!
when i was in banff there was a codename amongst all the girls ‘ the banff bum’. essentially the fact that we all put a few kg’s on once we had started living in banff. half of it could be excused by the bloody cold weather, of course you will eat more and do less as it freezing cold outside. Bu the other half was the amount of crap you put into your body ie alcohol and junky, oily foods. So its a doomed situation before you even begin. Also compounded by the fact that all the guys ate and drank more but didn’t change their weight at all.
So kind of just figured would not be worried about a bit of excess fat and enjoy the holiday. My plan was to exercise once I got home. which didn’t really happen, owing to me being busy and lazy at the same time plus the hot weather of the Sydney summer. Then today I decided to weigh myself, just out of interest. and without disclosing any figures, I have dropped 3kg since I have been home, which is exciting! even more exciting because I haven really done anything about losing weight. i reckon it is just the healthier food I am eating.
on another note, happy Australia Day for tomorrow! Im off to see the Killers which will be awesome. cheers!
so my friend gave me some discs containing the tv show veronica mars. they sat on my desk for quite a while, but i gave in and put one in my cd drive. predictably i am now hooked (thanks del), so i will try and blame it on her, he he. no it is actually a pretty good show, amongst all the teenage crap out there. like the 3rd season of the oc, how promising shows go wrong. so only few episodes left until we find out (hooked my sister too) who killed Lily Kane. Was it the brother or the parents? so far they aren’t giving away any clues.
in other news went over to brookvale today to help buy a new car for my sisters and I to drive around in. We sold the old 93 barina before we found a replacement which involved some crafty driving all over the city to get people where they needed to be. So mad hunt this week turned up another 2nd hand barina. this time with airbags and a cool light green colour – very girly car. its pretty neat though and thank god it has air con and power steering is all i can say.
Sydney has been having some sweltering hot days lately. yesterday almost 40 outside. so headed to the beach for a cool down. Except the water temperature was 14 degrees!!! it is absolutely crazy. never felt it that cold before, and in the middle of summer. so you go to dive in and you get cooled down, to the max! I had two quick trips in, basically just made myself wet and then ran back out. Your whole body goes numb, you cant feel your feet at all. its just too random. I don’t think there has ever been a summer like this before.
