Instead of the usual, ‘this is my first post, hello world’ comment I have decided to broach an interesting subject. Since moving to Canada as a seasonal worker I have taken on a variety of activties which normally would not cross my path. Firstly housekeeping, which is so crap that I will not delve into it here, except to say that only ever do it if you are desperate! However I have taken a job at Sunshine Village Ski Resort, where I work the front desk of the ski school. Pretty much have decided to start this blog as I need something to pass the time. Have people coming in all day but often periods of quiet where all there is to do is surf the net. So thats what i have begun to do.
But the topic of my post is my eyes have been opened to how much bludging goes on in the workplace. people are being paid to turn up, do certain hours, but often if you are in customer service, if there aren’t any people around there isnt a lot to do. I guess for me, growing up have always been told to do my best, not slack off, that sort of mantra, so I always feel wrong to not be working when i have been paid to. however i am happy to go with the flow, and this job at the moment is extremely cruisy!
